Tariq Al Obaidli, Manager of Emirates Transport’s School Transport Operations, also narrated that the decision will apply to all the school buses which are provided by the central government and private schools.
Tariq Al Obaidli said that the decision was in line with legislation of regulatory bodies such as the National Transport Authority, Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, Abu Dhabi Department of Transport and Dubai’s Roads And Transport Authority in addition to Ajman’s Public Transportation Corporation (PTC).
PTC Ajman has already implemented the tinting and removed all the blinds and other installation. This rule is applicable to all the school buses of government institutions and private schools. Al Obaidli noted that Emirates Transport is working towards implementing state-of-the-art systems to ensure the safety of the children. This rule includes the setting up of surveillance cameras, tracking system and monitoring the driver’s conduct and in which way they followed the traffic rules.
Earlier, the tinting the school buses was not standard as regulations varied for big and minibusses. Tinting the school buses windows will be more useful for cooling down the bus and maintaining the privacy of the students. The timing is highly appropriate than any other medium.
